VIDEO: Police confirm sudden death on Singh Street due to dog attack

Dog attack leads to death

UPDATE: 2:30 p.m.

A dog attack has resulted in the death of one person, according to Kamloops RCMP.

At 11:45 a.m. this morning reports came in of a dog attacking a person at a home in the 900-block of Singh Street.

A man who was visiting the residence was attacked by a pit bull owned by a resident of the house. The visiting man died of his injuries.

The dog is currently alive and secured on the deck of the house. Conservation officers at the scene will soon sedate and then euthanize the dog.

The man's name will not be released, according to a press release from the Kamloops RCMP. The B.C. Coroners will investigate the incident.


UPDATE: 1:44 p.m.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie confirms there's been a "sudden death" at a location on Singh Street.

Police are remaining on scene the the B.C. Coroners Service has been called.


ORIGINAL: 1:26 p.m.

Police are currently on scene at a location in Brocklehurst right now.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police are "at a location on Singh Street" but that the situation is not criminal in nature.

"There's no danger to the public," she adds.
