What's the July forecast for Kamloops look like?

A peek into July weather

It looks like the Kamloops forecast will "turn a corner" this month, according to Environment Canada.

Meteorologist Armel Castellan tells Castanet things are expected to dry up and warm up in July, following a very wet and cool June. The Tournament Capital recorded 41.2 mm of rain last month (4 mm higher than normal), and the average temperature was 16.7 C (it's usually 18.4 C).

"Right now, we're going to see temperatures still be a little bit below normal, with these 21 and 20-degree highs... Normally, you're up to 27 C (at this time of year), and lows to 13 C," he says.

The weekend forecast calls for sunshine and highs in the mid- to late-20s.

By the middle of next week, showers are possible, Castellan says.

"They wouldn't be ones that will deliver an enormous amount of rain."

Looking past next week, the forecast looks "not too bad."

"This is the time of year when you can guarantee that a pretty good number of days of July are going to be nice," Castellan says.

The mean temperature for the River City for July is 21.5 C; the average daily high is 28.9 C and the average daily low is 14.2 C.
