Library in Clearwater changing hours, adding evenings

Clearwater library hours change

As part of their reopening plan, the library in Clearwater is changing their hours to reflect feedback received in 2019.

Evening hours are being added to the schedule, on Tuesdays and Fridays, according to a press release from the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library.

"We want to better serve residents who work daytime hours and improve support to local teens attending Friday evening programs,” says chief librarian Judy Moore in the release. “We are excited to offer two evenings per week. The added flexibility will provide the Clearwater community with improved access to the library and all of its resources."

The library in the town's core is currently closed. Prior to the closure, caused by the pandemic, it ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily Tuesday to Saturday, except Fridays. Fridays it was open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

When it does reopen at the end of the month, the schedule will look like this:

  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

The library's takeout program will remain an option for the foreseeable future.
