Pair arrested in the Cariboo after report of shot fired at a home

Shot fired, pair arrested

A man and a woman were arrested in Williams Lake Monday night (July 13) following a report of a shot being fired in the direction of a home.

Police were called to the 6100 block of Guide Road at 10:13 p.m.; the 911 caller reported hearing a disturbance before hearing a shot.

A black Honda Ridgeline was seen leaving the property following the gun shot, according to a news release.

Mounties immediately responded and located the vehicle. The occupants, a man and a woman, were arrested without incident.

All people involved are known to each other. No injuries were reported.

"This incident could have ended tragically. Criminal matters need to be reported to the police to investigate. Never take matters into your own hands," says Staff Sgt. Del Byron in the release.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
