New NorthPaws to bring big bat, versatility to new team

Big bat joins NorthPaws

The NorthPaws are nearly able to field a full team.

The new baseball team announced their eighth player signing this week with Dalton Bowling, an infielder with a big bat. The San Jose State University students has been playing first and third for his team, though he has some experience playing as catcher as well.

“Dalton was a highly touted prospect out of high school,” says head coach Cole Armstrong in a press release. “With a big bat and strong glove, he really fits how we’re trying to build our roster. We have a good mix of guys who can hit for power and play solid defense at the corners.”

At SJSU, Bowling has been batting in the middle of the order and says he likes to go big when he's at the plate.

While he's never been to Canada before, he's looking forward to the upcoming season in the summer of 2021.

"I’m looking forward to meeting the new guys and building relationships with teammates and people in the West Coast League,” Bowling says. “I’ve heard some good things about Kamloops, I’m excited to get up there.”

The NorthPaws first game ever is June 4 in Yakima. Their first home game is June 8 against the Edmonton Riverhawks. For more about the team, click here.
