Police looking for tips after man stabbed; case leads to downtown Kamloops motel

Kamloops RCMP are hoping the public can help after a man was stabbed multiple times yesterday evening (Dec. 2).

Around 5:15 p.m. Mounties responded to reports of a man who had been stabbed. He's currently recovering at Royal Inland Hospital.

The RCMP investigation led to a motel near the hospital on the 500-block of Columbia Street, states Sgt. Darren Michels in a press release, where video of a suspect has been collected.

"We believe this to be a targeted incident as the victim is known to have ties to the local drug trade and we are trying to determine if this has relevance to the investigation. We are hoping that by releasing this video we will be able to ascertain who this suspect is and his identity will further investigation," says Sgt. Michels in the release.
