Locals weigh in with their thoughts on the warm temperature trend

Mild weather hits Kamloops

After a few weeks of below-freezing temperatures, it's been warming up in the Kamloops region.

Many people were out enjoying the sun and mid-day 9C high at Riverside Park on Monday afternoon. Castanet Kamloops asked locals for their thoughts on the warming temperatures this time of year.

One resident said with the ongoing pandemic, it’s easy to feel housebound when it’s too cold to spend time outside. He said he's looking forward to hitting the pickle ball courts if the warm temperatures continue, and as COVID restrictions allow.

“It changes a lot of things when you can get out in the sunshine and warm weather. With the COVID-19, it’s quite stressful and irritating after a while, so it’s good, really good.”

Others told Castanet Kamloops they were enjoying birding, and going for more walks.

One person said she's happy that Kamloops brings "the best of all seasons."

“I’m always happy at this time of the year to start thinking about gardening, but we’ve been very lucky with a lovely winter. The cross country skiing has been really super, the best it’s been in years."
