UPDATE: 5:53 p.m.

Neighbours in the area of a fire Sunday that destroyed a garage in Westsyde heard a loud explosion before flames tore through the structure.

A neighbour who lives in the 6200-block of Westsyde Road told Castanet Kamloops she heard a loud boom, then looked outside her window to see flames in her neighbour's garage.

No injuries have been reported. The garage is believed to have been completely destroyed.

No injuries have been reported Sunday after flames tore through a garage on a residential property in Westsyde.

Kamloops Fire Rescue crews were called to a home in the 6200-block of Westsyde Drive, past The Dunes golf course, just after 4:30 p.m. for a report of a residential structure fire.

Smoke could be seen from as far away as Sahali.

Two ambulances, at least three KFR vehicles and a FortisBC crew were on scene.
