Kamloops Fire Rescue made quick work of an early-morning blaze Friday at the Mission Flats landfill.
Crews were called to a fire in a scrap pile at about 4 a.m.
Firefighters worked quickly and diligently, getting the fire completely out by 7:15 a.m.
Fire prevention is currently on scene at the landfill, investigating the cause of the metal pile fire.
At this time, no further information is available.
A spokesperson for KFR said that it was much smaller and more contained than a fire at the landfill on Feb. 27. That blaze took about 24 hours to snuff out.
Castanet will update once fire prevention has completed the investigation.
