The emergency department at Ashcroft Hospital will be closed this weekend due to staffing shortages, Interior Health says.
According to a bulletin issued Friday by IH, “unexpected limited physician availability” means the hospital's emergency department will be closed Friday to Monday.
Residents in the Ashcroft area looking for care are encouraged to call 911 in the event of an emergency, and visit hospitals if needed in Kamloops, Lillooet or Merritt.
Ashcroft Hospital’s emergency department typically operates from Friday at 6 p.m. to Monday at 8 a.m.
