Residents near Napier Lake fire given 'all clear;' TNRD rescinds evacuation alerts

Napier Lake given 'all clear'

Residents on evacuation alert in the Stump Lake area due to a wildfire that broke out last week have been given the “all clear,” according to the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.

The evacuation alert in the Napier Lake area was rescinded just before 1 p.m. on Monday.

“The evacuation alert in the vicinity of Napier Lake has been rescinded to all clear as the threat of wildfire in the area no longer poses an imminent risk to the safety of residents,” the TNRD said in a statement announcing the change.

The fire had been burning just north of Stump Lake, along Highway 5A approximately 30 kilometres south of Kamloops.

BC Wildfire Service crews said Sunday the Napier Lake firefight had been “quiet” recently.
