Logan Lake, Ashcroft residents warned of looming shortage of X-ray technologists

Travelling further for X-rays

Residents in two Kamloops-area communities are being told they may have to travel further for X-rays in the coming months due to staffing shortages.

According to Interior Health, non-emergency medical imaging services in Logan Lake and Ashcroft may be “temporarily unavailable” in the months ahead due to limited staffing.

Patients needing imaging are encouraged to visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt.

“Our priority is to support people across the region with access to medical imaging services,” IH said in a news release.

“We are actively recruiting for additional medical imaging technologists to support services in all our communities, including those in Logan Lake and Ashcroft.”
