UPDATE 5:15 p.m.

The crash scene has been cleared and southbound lanes are now open.

UPDATE 3:30 p.m.

BC Highway Patrol is expecting the southbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway to be fully reopened within an hour after a serious crash.

Emergency crews were called at 12:10 p.m. for a rollover collision on Highway 5 near the Portia exit.

“Upon arrival it was determined that a southbound vehicle towing a holiday trailer lost control and crashed. The lone female driver sustained injuries that, at this time, are believed to be non-life threatening, however due to the location of the collision, she was flown by BC Air Ambulance to hospital for treatment,” said Cpl. Mike Halskov.

As of 3:30 p.m., northbound traffic is flowing freely while one lane is open southbound to allow for a vehicle recovery.

Anyone with information about this collision, including any dashboard camera video is asked to contact BC Highway Patrol in Chilliwack at 604-702-4039.

ORIGINAL 2:15 p.m.

DriveBC reports an air ambulance is landing on the highway between the Zopkios Brake Check and Exit 202 (11 km south of Great Bear Snowshed to 3 km south of Coquihalla Summit).

Northbound traffic is not being blocked.

More details as they become available.
