DeSantis steps down as executive director of KCBIA

KCBIA head to step down

The head of the Downtown Kamloops business association is stepping down.

Carl DeSantis said he resigned on Wednesday morning. He was hired four years ago as executive director of the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association.

“The decision was extremely difficult,” he said in an email.

“This has been a thoroughly remarkable journey, and I have been blessed to meet and work with so many incredible individuals.”

DeSantis, a former Mountie, called the job “an immensely rewarding experience for which I am truly grateful.”

DeSantis said his last day of work will be Dec. 10, and he has committed to helping KCBIA find a replacement.

“There is no agenda, I’ve not accepted another position and I’m not moving,” he said.

“My plans do include not working, spending time with my family, grandkids, friends and exploring the West Coast on our boat.”
