Police remain on scene Saturday outside a travel trailer in the Silver Sage trailer park in the Mount Paul industrial area. The trailer was searched on Friday in relation to the investigation into missing Kamloops woman Shannon White.

Police remain on scene on Saturday afternoon outside a travel trailer in the Mount Paul area — a property searched on Friday in relation to missing Kamloops woman Shannon White.

Mounties were sitting in two police cars outside Unit 32 of the Silver Sage trailer park. Police have been on scene for more than a day.

White, 32, was reported missing on Nov. 1 after she failed to show up for a shift at Kamloops Hyundai. Her landlord told Castanet he spoke to her on Halloween night and saw her vehicle driving away, apparently to work, on the morning of her disappearance.

Police and search and rescue crews were also scouring an area west of the city on Friday.

ORIGINAL STORY: 4 a.m.

Shannon White has been missing since Nov. 1, and the days leading up to her disappearance seemed anything but unusual to some people close to her.

“I heard her Jeep start and then I saw her driving away,” Matt Hatch, White’s landlord, told Castanet Kamloops, describing the morning White disappeared.

“I saw the back of the Jeep turn the direction that she's supposed to turn.”

The search for White intensified on Friday. Mounties appeared to be executing a search warrant inside a travel trailer at Silver Sage trailer park, while police and search and rescue crews scoured an area west of the city.

The day before White’s disappearance was Halloween. Hatch said he took candy to White's suite.

“Everything was just so normal in the days leading up, the night before, I talked to her, I went down, I gave her a bag of candy because it was Halloween and I had way too much leftover,” Hatch explained.

“Like I just called her like, ‘Hey, you want some candy?' 'Yeah, of course, I'll never turned down free candy’ — that was the words that came out of her mouth, and I took her a bag of candy and said hi.”

The next morning, Hatch said he saw White's Jeep drive away;. He hasn’t seen her since,

“It's pretty f--cked up having [an empty] parking spot at your house. Just something's missing. And it’s not fun. It's not fair,” Hatch said.

According to Hatch, White’s disappearance blindsided everyone.

“She's not the type of person that would be mixed up in a reason why you would go missing, like she's not a drug dealer, she's not a criminal, she's not any of that,” Hatch said.

“She's a girl who lives in my basement with a huge fluffy dog, who comes up and plays with my daughters, and [she’s] the nicest person I've ever met.”

White is believed to have left her home in Lower Sahali around 8 a.m. on Nov. 1.

She never arrived for her shift at Kamloops Hyundai. The next day, her Jeep was found parked on Nicola Street near Third Avenue.

“It was extremely out of character that Shannon did not have any contact with anybody and she did not arrive at her workplace on Notre Dame [Drive], which she was expected to arrive at around 8:30 a.m. that day,” Kamloops RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said.

Police said Friday they received information confirming White’s jeep left Kamloops city limits for 45 minutes on Nov. 1, shortly after White was supposed to arrive at work.
