A murder charge has been laid in connection with a homicide last week in Lillooet, police say.
Mounties were called to a report of a man down on Main Street in downtown Lillooet on March 15. They arrived to find a man suffering serious injuries.
The victim, 25-year-old Leeland Alexander, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“Investigators from the E Division major crime unit spent several days in Lillooet speaking to witnesses and gathering evidence in this investigation,” RCMP Sgt. Chris Manseau said in a news release.
Manseau said prosecutors have charged Justin Ehlert, 35, with one count of murder. He is being held in custody pending a future court date.
