BC Hydro crews restored power to thousands of homes overnight

UPDATE: 6:15 a.m.

Power has been restored to the thousands of homes who were without Friday night, following a widespread outage south of Kamloops.

ORIGINAL: 7:40 p.m.

BC Hydro crews are dealing with two separate power outages in Kamloops.

Both outages started just after 7 p.m. Friday.

Close to 2,000 customers are without power west of Highway 5A, south of Greenstone Drive in Kamloops.

There are 4,315 customers without power south of Highland Road.

Crews have been assigned to both areas and the cause of the outages are under investigation.
