The emergency department at Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt will be closed until Tuesday morning, according to Interior Health.
The health authority said the closure, which was announced Monday at 11:30 a.m., is due to “unforeseen limited physician availability.”
The emergency department is expected to reopen on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
“Interior Health regrets this temporary change to normal operations,” IH said in a statement.
Residents requiring emergency care are asked to call 911, or visit the emergency department at Kelowna General Hospital or Kamloops’ Royal Inland Hospital while Merritt’s ER is closed.
