Two waterfront properties ordered to evacuate near Quaaout Lodge

Evacuation order near Chase

The Little Shuswap Lake Band has ordered two properties near Quaaout Lodge to evacuate due to flood risk.

The evacuation order issued by the band on Wednesday covers homes at 288 Schouten Rd. and 292 Schouten Rd.

Evacuees are being told to register with LSLB officials.

“Members of the LSLB emergency management program and other applicable agencies will be expediting this action,” the evacuation order states.

The entire Shuswap region is on flood watch, as is the South Thompson River. Shuswap Lake is expected to peak in the coming days.

Evacuation alerts remain in place for properties along Schouten Road, Arnouse Lane and Hilliam Road.
