Woman dead after motorcycle crash on Tod Mountain Road

Heffley crash kills woman

A woman is dead following a collision Saturday in Heffley Creek involving a motorcycle and a deer.

Emergency crews were called to the 700-block of Tod Mountain Road just before 9 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a collision.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Dana Napier said investigators believe the motorcycle was headed west on Tod Mountain Road when it struck the deer and left the roadway.

“Despite efforts of first responders, the female passenger was unfortunately declared dead at the scene,” she said, adding the injured driver was taken to hospital.

Investigators have ruled out speed and alcohol as contributing factors.

A section of the road was closed for a number of hours while police scoured the scene. The BC Coroners Service is also investigating.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to call police at 250-828-3000.
