Online fundraiser launched for man seriously injured in Halston Avenue motorcycle crash

Fundraiser for injured man

An online fundraiser has been set up for a man who suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle collision earlier this month on Halston Avenue.

According to the post on GoFundMe, Matt Baker suffered severe injuries to his left leg as well as two punctured lungs, five broken ribs, a broken diaphragm and a broken hand when his motorcycle was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Halston Avenue and Eighth Street.

He was taken to hospital in serious condition.

“Since the accident, Matt has been fighting to save his leg and has undergone six surgeries, with many more to come,” Shawn Pannu wrote on the GoFundMe page.

As of Wednesday evening, the GoFundMe had raised nearly $13,000, with a goal of $50,000.
