Clouds, 'slight chance' of showers, storms to end otherwise sunny week

Mixed bag in city's forecast

While sunny skies are expected over the next few days in Kamloops, Environment Canada predicts possible clouds and a chance of showers or thunderstorms to end the week.

Johnson Zhong, meteorologist for Environment Canada, said Monday and Tuesday are predicted to look similar to this past weekend’s weather — sunny, with highs in the low 30’s.

According to Environment Canada, Monday is expected to see a high of 33 C, with temperatures lowering to 16 C overnight.

Tuesday is forecast to be the warmest day of the week, with a high of 34 C and an overnight low of 19 C.

Zhong said weather modelling is showing a possible mix of weather for the end of the week, with clouds expected to move in on Wednesday.

“Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, there's a bit of instability. There will be more clouds coming in, but the model has uncertainties on Thursday and Friday, how much clouds there's going to be, how unstable it's going to be,” Zhong said.

“The newest model looks like bringing more sunny days and higher temperatures on Thursday and Friday. But that said, on Wednesday through Friday, there will be some slight chance of showers or thunderstorms.”

From Wednesday to Friday, highs of 30 C to 31 C are expected.
