Environment Canada has upgraded the severe thunderstorm watch for the Kamloops area to a severe thunderstorm warning — a storm that could produce very strong wind gusts, hail and heavy rain.
The warning was issued at about 4 p.m.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the South Thompson, including Kamloops.
The warning was in effect as of Thursday morning.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain,” Environment Canada said.
A thunderstorm warning is also in place for other regions across the province, including North Thompson, Nicola, the Okanagan and Similkameen.
