Downtown art gallery closed after heist will reopen with new show

Burgled gallery will reopen

A downtown gallery that shuttered after an overnight art heist in June has announced it will be reopening.

Gallery 635 shut down after three paintings by local artists, priced at $2,900, were burgled in the night.

The gallery has now announced it will reopening and feature a new show.

Vander Wal & Vander Wall is scheduled to open Sept. 13, with an artist talk at 6 p.m. Oct. 7.

A poster for the new exhibit states the shows closing date is to be determined.

Gallery 635, located 635 Victoria St. (the same address that houses the offices of Castanet Kamloops), will open to the public Monday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment.
