TNRD residents can apply to receive mail-in ballots, regional district says

Apply now to vote by mail

Thompson-Nicola Regional District residents hoping to vote by mail are now able to apply to receive their ballots.

According to the TNRD, applications opened on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Residents can find an electronic copy of the application form on the TNRD General Local Elections webpage, or can pick up a form at the civic building located in downtown Kamloops.

“To receive a mail ballot package, completed applications must be received by the TNRD before 12 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3 2022,” said a statement from the TRND.

“Following receipt of the mail ballot application, those residents are responsible for ensuring that their completed ballot is received by the chief election officer at the TNRD civic building no later than 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 2022.”

Residents can fill out application forms electronically or through a fillable form which can be mailed, emailed or faxed to the TNRD Civic Building.

The TNRD noted that mail ballots won’t be sent out if they are requested for an electoral area where an election is not being held.

More information can be found on the TNRD website.

The local general election will be held on Oct. 15.
