BC Wildlife Park seeking donations of fish to help keep animals full over winter

Wildlife park in need of fish

The BC Wildlife Park is in need of fish, hoping donations will help to make sure the facility’s resident animals stay full.

“Fish is a staple in the diet of many of the park’s animals, and the park is currently in need of fish donations,” reads a recent post from the BC Wildlife Park on Facebook.

“If you or someone you know happens to have extra frozen salmon or trout, many of the animals in our care would certainly appreciate it.”

The BC Wildlife Park is home to nearly 200 animals representing approximately 65 species. The facility in Dallas is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Oct. 10, when winter hours will see the park open on weekends, holidays and SD73 non-instructional days.

Anyone with fish to donate is asked to contact the park’s animal care team at [email protected] or 250-573-3242 ext. 232.
