Seven councillor candidates, one mayoral candidate and four vying for the position of school trustee received endorsements from the Kamloops and District Labour Council ahead of the 2022 local general election.
In a news release, KDLC endorsed City of Kamloops mayoral candidate Sadie Hunter, along with two incumbent councillor candidates — Dale Bass and Bill Sarai.
KDLC also endorsed Daphane Nelson, Katie Neustaeter, Jesse Ritcey, Taj Sandur and Randy Sunderman for city council.
Kamloops-Thompson school board trustee candidates Heather Grieve, Cole Hickson, Jo Kang and Kathleen Karpuk received endorsements from KDLC.
KDLC announced it has created a website, kamloopsvoter.ca, to promote all local candidate campaigns.
Residents can use the online platform to write their own endorsements and submit questions to all candidates.
“Questions from the labour council were posted, allowing candidates to take the time to create thoughtful answers. The system we used to post our questions is also open to local voters who create a website account,” KDLC said in its statement.
The local general election will be held on Saturday Oct. 15, 2022.
