Kamloops council authorizes public hearing as mobile home park seeks to expand

Trailer park seeks to expand

Kamloops council has authorized a public hearing for a rezoning application as a North Kamloops mobile home park looks to expand.

During a council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 15, Marvin Kiwatkowski, the city’s development, engineering and sustainability director, said applicant Apple Valley Mobile Home Park Ltd. has entered into a sales agreement to buy surplus land from CN Rail.

The vacant property is located north of the CN Rail tracks, and south of Apple Valley Mobile Home Park at 1375 Ord Rd.

“The key is the Apple Valley Mobile Home park is looking to expand what they would love to put on this parcel, if it goes through, would be six additional units,” Kwiatkowski said.

Council voted to authorize first and second readings of a bylaw amendment that would see the property rezoned to facilitate expansion of the future mobile home park.

Council also authorized a public hearing to consider the bylaw change. The date of the public hearing is yet to be determined.
