Riversong Guitars beats industry heavyweights, wins prestigious global award

A Kamloops guitar manufacturer has won a prestigious industry award.

Riversong Guitars’ P2P Pacific acoustic guitar was named Best Acoustic Guitar in Musical Merchandise Review’s 30th annual Dealers’ Choice Awards, which were unveiled on Monday morning.

“We’re competing in a global market against many other industry titans,” Riversong owner Mike Miltimore told Castanet Kamloops.

“This win is validation that we’re doing something right — and validation that we can create a world-class product here in Kamloops.”

Riversong was a finalist in the category alongside guitars from Martin, Taylor and Yamaha. According to Miltimore, Riversong is the first Canadian company to win Best Acoustic Guitar.

Riversong also had instruments listed as finalists in three other categories — Product of the Year, Ukulele of the Year and Electric Guitar of the Year.
