Man arrested for assault after being confronted for urinating in public, police say

Arrest after public urination

Kamloops police say one man was taken into custody after he allegedly assaulted two people when confronted for urinating in front of a woman and a child.

In a news release, Kamloops RCMP said officers responded to a report of five to six people fighting in front of a store in the 600-block of Seymour Street.

The incident happened on Friday, Jan. 20 around 4:15 p.m.

According to police, the man was arrested and held in a cell until he was sober before being released with conditions and a court date.

RCMP said charge recommendations are expected to follow pending the investigation’s conclusion.
