Car flees from burst hydrant

Mounties are looking for witnesses to a vehicle crash that left a fire hydrant pouring water into a yard on Sunday.

According to Kamloops RCMP, on Jan. 22, officers responded to the 700-block of Fraser Street where a silver four-door sedan had allegedly crashed into a yard and struck a fire hydrant.

The crash resulted in water pouring onto the property and a nearby house.

RCMP said after the crash, several people believed to be in their teens or early twenties reportedly got back in the sedan and drove off.

The vehicle is believed to have front end damage.

Anyone with information regarding the ongoing investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment or Crime Stoppers.
