Merritt resident Cindy Petroczi says she plans to replace items lost in floods, take a vacation after $125,000 win.
A Merritt resident impacted by the November 2021 floods says she is “grateful and thankful” after winning $125,000 from a BCLC scratch and win ticket.
In a news release from BCLC, Cindy Petroczi said she decided to treat herself by purchasing a ticket from a Merritt Walmart and was shocked when she found out she had won the top prize.
Petroczi said she immediately called her husband to share the news.
“I was in tears when I called him, I couldn’t believe it,” Petroczi said.
She said some of the prize money will go towards helping her family and replacing items which had been lost in the flood, but she also looks forward to taking a vacation.
“I’m so grateful and thankful,” Petroczi said.
“This will be so nice after losing things in the flood.”
