Cast of youths will perform Hansel and Gretel with the Kamloops Players Society

Young actors to perform play

Young Kamloops actors will be taking to the stage over the Family Day long weekend.

The actors, ages 10 to 17, will be performing “Hansel and Gretel,” dramatized by I.E. Clark, at the Bridgeview Theatre under the guidance of the Kamloops Players Society, the oldest community theatre in Kamloops.

The family-friendly adaptation of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale is directed by Melanie Gregg and produced by Annette Gauthier, with the assistance of Kamloops Players volunteers.

The runtime is approximately 40 minutes and is suitable for children.

Kamloops Players typically puts on two regal season collections each year, “Spring into Comedy” and “Fall into Drama.” The society felt it was important to include this third show to help create more theatrical opportunities for youth.

The play will be performed from Feb. 17 to Feb. 19.

Tickets range from $8 to $15 and are available at Eventbrite.
