Up to 15 cm of snow is forecast to fall on the Coquihalla Friday night

Snow to fall on Coquihalla

Snow is expected to fall over the Coquihalla Highway Friday night.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning Friday morning for the notorious highway, calling for up to 15 centimetres of snow to fall through the evening.

“A frontal system will bring heavy snow tonight,” Environment Canada warns. “The snow will begin this evening and ease early Saturday morning. Snowfall amounts of 15 cm are expected by Saturday morning.”

While significant snow is forecast on the Coquihalla, the Okanagan Connector is expected to be clearer, with just a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the forecast.

Precipitation is not expected over Kelowna.
