Council approves development permit for new Campbell Creek gas bar, convenience store

City OKs new gas station

Kamloops council has approved a development permit for a new gas bar and convenience store in Campbell Creek.

On Tuesday, council voted to issue a permit for the new Otter Co-op development, which will be built on a vacant lot at 7750 Dallas Dr.

The development also includes plans for a car wash and EV charging stations.

Marvin Kwiatkowski, the city’s development, engineering and sustainability director, told council that vehicles will be able to access to the gas bar, which will be located just south of the Trans-Canada Highway, from Dallas Drive.

Council voted 8-0 in favour of issuing a permit for the project.

Coun. Margot Middleton recused herself from the discussion and vote after declaring a conflict of interest, citing a possible connection to her business.
