UPDATE 12:45
A Dash-8 aircraft with one engine out has landed safely at Kelowna International Airport.
Airport spokesperson Jenelle Hynes says the Air Canada Express flight touched down without incident while emergency crews were on alert.
The flight was a repositioning one, so no passengers were on board, just three crew members, said Hynes.
The flight was not scheduled to land at YLW, but the pilot requested permission to land because of the engine issue.
"They did land safely, and now the aircraft will receive a full mechanical review before heading off to its destination," said Hynes.
Emergency personnel are on standby as a Dash-8 aircraft approaches Kelowna International Airport with one engine out.
A four-alarm fire call was sounded just after noon at YLW as a precaution.
There are reportedly three people on board the plane.
The Dash-8 is a twin-engine, medium-range turboprop airliner built by Bombardier. Introduced in 1984, more than 1,000 Dash-8s are in service around the world.
In its various forms, the aircraft can carry up to 78 passengers.
