Dream On no dream

Steven Tyler played a few bars of Dream On at a downtown piano Monday afternoon.

The rumours turned out to be true.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler made a very brief appearance at one of Kelowna's downtown pianos Monday afternoon.

Tyler took a seat at the blue piano on the waterfront promenade in front of Stuart Park and played a few bars of Dream On before exiting as quickly as he had arrived.

Rumours had apparently been swirling around for part of the afternoon that Tyler would make an appearance about 5 p.m.

A few dozen fans began gathering around the piano shortly before 5.

In true rock star fashion, he arrived shortly after 5:30.

A limousine dropped Tyler and a small entourage at the foot of Queensway Avenue for the brief appearance.

Tyler, 67, and Aerosmith were set to perform in concert Monday night at Prospera Place.
