Someone in Kelowna is $50 million richer.
There is one winning ticket for the $50-million jackpot in Friday night's Lotto Max draw – and it was sold in Kelowna.
This marks the second big lottery win in Kelowna in 2016. Kelowna resident, Robert Goertzen won $21.9 million on the February 20 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Seven MaxMillions prizes of $1 million each were also up for grabs. One of those was won by a ticket sold on the Prairies.
The grand prize for next Friday's draw will be approximately $16 million, according to BC Lotteries.
The last Lotto Max jackpot win was on March 18, when a $60-million jackpot was won by a Toronto ticket holder.
All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize.
The specific retail location where the $50 million ticket was purchased in Kelowna will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim their prize.
