Luxury estate up for bids

You may not have a car worthy of the driveway, but you can still put your bid on a multimillion-dollar Kelowna home.

Touted as a luxury orchard estate, the 35-­acre Harvest Ridge Estate in East Kelowna is being sold in an unreserved, live auction Sept. 22, hosted by the Garage Sale Luxury Auction House.

There will be no minimum bid and no reserve price set.

But don't expect the stunning property to go for a steal. It includes a 5,900 square foot five-­bedroom five-bath home with an outdoor pool, tennis court, four-­car garage and a sprawling orchard of cherry, apple and pear trees.

The estate had previously been on the market for 10 months, and to hasten the sale it was decided to auction it.

Assets valued at more than $5 million, like this, qualify bidders for the red carpet treatment, including "live-in" viewings with a personal chef and hostess.

“These ... allow qualified buyers to relax in a private setting and focus on one thing – carefully considering their purchase decision. The exclusive service provides occupancy for up to eight guests and a four­-night maximum stay," the auction house says. They are available by appointment until Sept. 21.

The current owners built the orchard and mansion over a 12-year period.

The East Kelowna property was purchased in 2003, and the home was built in 2004. Amenities include a 54-foot outdoor pool, infrared sauna, tennis court. a 5,000 square foot detached workshop, oversized four-car garage, billiards room, temperature-controlled wine cellar and nanny/in-law suite.

The orchard has more than 8,200 mature trees on Agricultural Land Reserve property.
