City says changes to its website makes services easier to access

Online services made easy

The City of Kelowna says recent changes to its website will now make it easier for residents to access services online.

In a news release, city officials say improvements rolled out this week are part of a long-term vision to move away from the need for trips into a city location.

Residents can now utilize action buttons in four categories, including apply, pay, explore and report/request, which will "refine the list of online services the city provides, and simplify the process of accessing them."

“We know Kelowna residents are passionate about this city and take pride in their communities,” said Jazz Pabla, information services director.

“This inspires us to examine the way we provide services and make improvements that will increase customer satisfaction and reduce barriers to accessing city services or letting us know about issues that need addressing.”

The city has also updated its building permitting system, making it possible for residents and developers to access, complete, submit and pay for building permits online.

“This is one more step in an ongoing journey to make it easier and more convenient to do business with the city,” said planning director Ryan Smith.

"The COVID-19 pandemic makes these types of initiatives all the more important as we adhere to physical distancing recommendations for safety, but also ensure that residents and developers can move forward as efficiently as possible with their important projects.”
