On Tuesday night Kelowna city council gave Costco the green light to relocate to its desired new location at Baron and Leckie roads.
After years of looking, Costco's Kelowna warehouse is set to open its new space this year in the fall.
What’s going to happen to Costco’s current location? Castanet hit the streets to ask, what would you like to see go there?
One Kelowna resident said she would like to see an Ikea replace Costco once it moves.
Two respondents said they wouldn't mind seeing a new strip mall of some sort.
"There's a plethora of ideas that I could think of," a man answered. "Perhaps maybe something with animals. Ones that I could pet, ones that I could ride – of course, having their consent would be a delicious treat, I feel like."
The new Costco Warehouse aims to be 25 per cent larger than the current store, with 167,000 square feet and 793 parking stalls.
