Driver arrested after minor crash on Pandosy Street

Driver arrested after crash

A driver was arrested after a minor crash Wednesday evening on Kelowna’s Pandosy Street.

Emergency crews were called to the single-vehicle incident near the intersection of Sutherland Avenue at about 5:20 p.m.

A resident of a nearby apartment building tells Castanet a grey SUV collided with a bus stop on Pandosy Street. The driver then exited his vehicle, appeared disorientated, and sat on the curb.

The witness of the crash says the collision would not have been enough to cause any injury, but the driver’s demeanor suggested he was impaired or suffering from a medical condition.

Kelowna RCMP handcuffed the driver, face down on the roadway, before loading him into a police car.

Traffic on Pandosy Street is still flowing freely as emergency crews wait for a tow truck to remove the SUV from the curb.

Castanet will request more information from RCMP.
