Don't expect Kelowna to change the way city council meetings are conducted for at least the balance of the month.
Despite a loosening of indoor restrictions which now allow gatherings of up to 50 people with a COVID-19 safety plan, Kelowna city clerk Stephen Fleming says specific health orders around how council meetings are held remains in place.
Until such time as those orders are removed, or more clarity is received from the provincial health office, Fleming says meetings will continue to be held remotely.
Regardless of what rules are in place, the public hearing set for this coming Tuesday will be held remotely since Fleming says it was advertised as such.
There are just two meetings remaining until Kelowna reverts to its summer schedule with meeting held every second Monday.
Fleming expects if there is a lifting of the restrictions, it could be in time for the first meeting of the summer schedule, July 12.
