ORIGINAL 8:50 a.m.

The search for a missing person who is believed to have fallen in Mission Creek near Pasadena Rd. remains suspended Wednesday morning.

COSAR manager, Duane Tresnich tells Castanet, RCMP and COSAR searched from Pasadena Rd. all the way to Gallagher’s Canyon until they suspended the operation at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Tresnich says the operation has been suspended until they meet with RCMP later this morning.

"The RCMP are continuing their investigation and we will be meeting later this morning, until then we’re in a holding pattern.”

COSAR launched its rescue boat last night as they exhausted all avenues in the search for the missing person.

Tresnich says river flow levels have dropped significantly overnight, “while we were searching we could see trees being ripped from the bank and swept away.”

Kelowna RCMP tell Castanet they received a report of a possible missing person in the area of Mission Creek Tuesday afternoon.

“Out of an abundance of caution, COSAR and RCMP Air Services were activated and they assisted in searching the area,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Tammy Lobb.
