Beaver Lake Road to close for 2 days later this month

Upcoming closure on Beaver Lake Rd.

Beaver Lake Road will close at Highway 97 for two days later this month for road work.

The project is a partnership between the City of Kelowna and the District of Lake Country. The two municipalities have worked together to shorten the resurfacing work time to just two days.

Construction will take place over 48-hours between October 14 and the 16 and the road closure will result in limited vehicle access within the construction zone.

Beaver Lake Road will be closed at Highway 97 down to Jensen Rd. starting Friday, October 14 at 7 p.m. and will remain closed until 7 p.m., Sunday October 16, if the weather cooperates.

Pedestrian access will be maintained in the area but vehicle access will be limited on Beaver Lake Rd.

"Residents will experience some construction-related noise and dust, but crews will work to minimize this as much as possible," the District of Lake Country said.

Beaver Lake Rd. is a key transportation connection in the region and a weekend closure with overnight work will minimize the disruption to the travelling public, said the municipality.
