Kelowna's Margaret Cameron is turning 109 today

A Kelowna woman is turning 109 today.

Margaret Cameron, a resident of Orchard Manor at Hawthorn Park retirement community, was born on Feb. 9, 1914 in Edmonton, Alberta to parents Horice and Elsie Mellick.

“At 109 years young she still jokes about chasing the boys and getting into mischief!” said Amy Banania, life enrichment manager at Hawthorn Park.

She married Ross Cameron at the age of 24 in 1938 and she has always been described as the life of the party.

“Margaret continues to love getting the attention of a room and enjoys all the love staff and residents at Hawthorn Park give her,” Banania continued.

She spent her birthday morning getting pampered for her upcoming party this afternoon.

“We look forward to surprising her with all her favourite things today,” said Banania. “Happy Birthday Miss Muffet!”
