Homicide suspect identified

RCMP are looking for a West Kelowna resident in connection with the homicide that occurred on January 1.

Joel Reimer died as a result of contact with a motor vehicle.

A Canada Wide Warrant has been issued for 29-year-old George Nicholas Young, who has not yet been found and police are asking for the publics assistance in locating him.

Young has been charged with second degree murder.

He is described as being 6' 3", approximately 210 lbs with brown hair, blue eyes.

He has a scar on his left cheek below the eye, and may have facial hair.

A search of court documents shows Young has an extensive criminal past dating back to 1998 in Kelowna where he pled guilty to assault.

Between 1998 and 2006, Young was charged with various offences in Kelowna and Nelson including theft, assault, assault with a weapon and breech of probation.

Young is considered violent and, if seen, do not approach. Instead, call police immediately.
