I thought Canada is nice

I am sickened by the letters to Castanet condemning snowbirds for not wanting to be imprisoned in a hotel when they have houses they can quite happily go and isolate in. You would think that they were single-handedly responsible for transmitting the covid virus, when in fact it is a miniscule percentage. All these people have to test negative for the virus before they can even get on a plane, they are our friends and neighbours, mostly elderly, they deserve better than this outburst of hatred.

I thought Canada wrote the book on nice? Apparently that book has been torn up and thrown in the garbage. Instead we are writing the book on sanctimonious, envious, spiteful and judgemental.
