Almost anyone could have seen this coming. The start of a party fuelled tourist season, mostly young unvaccinated folk. We seniors knew the mask mandate was lifted at least a month early before we had better vaccination coverage. What was the government thinking? Although we received our 2nd dose in mid-June, we never stopped wearing our masks whenever we went indoors anywhere, partly out of respect to business staff and to fellow shoppers, and partly to protect ourselves from the selfish and inconsiderate.
