It is time for the stick

I am very disappointed with the latest mask mandate, as I feel those that have done their duty and gotten their vaccines are being punished for those who chose not to out of ignorance and selfishness. These people should think what it would feel like to have the doors to their home welded shut — i feel the same all over again having to wear a mask.

The 18-29 age group is the principal driver of infections in the central Okanagan, because many in this age demographic think they will do just fine if they catch the virus, so they think they don’t need the vaccine. But such thinking is irresponsible — and if they are not mature enough to responsible decisions for themselves - society should do it for them.

Stop dangling the carrot and take out the stick, Bonnie Henry - time to have vaccine mandates for those wishing to go to nightclubs, attend in person post secondary institutions, go to concerts, sporting events, board a ferry, or any crowded venue.
